A brief history on Scottish Highlands

and this is our farm

Located in the beautiful Baker Valley near Baker City, Oregon, we proudly raise Scottish Highland cattle, pasture-raised and finished exclusively on grass hay.

A little about our journey

  • It all started in 2016

    Folks up the road were selling their small fold of three Scottish Highland cattle and, knowing only a little about the breed, we decided to take a chance. After deep research, we discovered more benefits and desirable traits than we thought possible for our area. They were truly a perfect fit for us and what we wanted our farm to become.

  • Hooked on Highlands

    From those initial three, we’ve worked diligently to build our herd to reflect what we consider to be the most desirable and traditional Scottish Highland traits. We continue work hard to preserve the heritage breed and are passionate about sharing our work with other highland-lovers across the nation.

  • Herd Production

    We are thrilled to have reached a point in our herd production to now be able to offer some of our best animals to you. Throughout the year, you will find heifers (both registered and unregistered), mature cows (bred and open), and bulls/bull prospects (registered) from outstanding genetic lines.

Then came the market

OPENED JUNE 2025

Partnering with nearby farmers and producers, we are proud to offer local clients access to the Old Souls Farm & Market. We sell everything from farm-fresh eggs to raw milk, local produce, meats, and baked goods, and of course our own Highland beef.
